When we have a practitioner that is ill and can’t come in for “tomorrow” for example, we’ll contact all of their patients via phone or sms to rearrange. If they don’t answer and just leave a voicemail, the appointment is still in the diary until we’re able to speak to them.
If we then get to 24hrs before the appt, the appt text reminder goes out because the appt is still in the diary, and any patients that haven’t listened to their voicemail assume everything is OK and sometimes turn up.
Could we have a method of cancelling reminders on a per day and per practitioner basis so that once we know someone isn’t available on a day, we can just prevent them going out while we contact them to rearrange?
